Neil Pitts
Neil Pitts is an adventurer and writer based in the UK. Following an abortive attempt to ski some of the gaps in his Norge pa langs trip of 2022 in February 2026 he and his favourite adventuring companion, Mrs P, returned to the snows of Scandinavia. This time the destination was Sweden.
The aim was to ski the 475km Kunglseden Trail pulling sledges behind us with all we needed to survive all that nature might throw at us - Spoiler alert! We succeeded! - The final killometer tally after 32 days was 484km or 300 miles in old money. You can read about all 32 days on the blog which also contains upcoming adventures and information on previous advetures. If you want a shorter version, with lots of cool (literally) images and videos you can click on the link here or at the top of the page to access my Instagram account.
If you want to read more about my 2022 Norway trip you will find more information below, or go to the Norway 2022 Page (Link below) to view the photo gallery from that year.
Neil and Trond finally arrive at Nordkapp - April 7th 2022
Neil contracted Covid 19 in March 2020 and dealt with the effects of Long Covid for 16 months (see blog dated 02/09/2021). In order to prove that it is possible to recover from this debilitating illness Neil set himself the challenge of getting fit and healthy in time to ski the length of Norway in 2022.
In January 2022 Neil and 2 friends attempted to ski more than 3,000 km from Norway’s southern most point at Lindesness to the northern most point at Nordkapp. Having battled through what was described in Norway as a “really ugly” winter, two of the original 3 members of the team finally arrived at Nordkapp on the 7th April.
This website and blog provide an insight into that challenge as well as Neil’s plan to write a book about both his recovery and the journey. Click on the Norway 2022 link here and below to discover more about the trip.
You can also find details of previous and current adventures. Most trips involve his wife, Mrs P, a campervan called Gandalf, mountains and wild places. Locations range from the Bahamas to the Alps, from snowy mountains to sapphire seas and encompass both foreign climes and his own back yard. Click on the links below to find out more.
