Another Adventure begins
July 2024
And so begins another jolly jaunt. There is no Gandalf (our beloved campervan) on this trip. We are letting the train take the strain as we head to the Pyrenees to do a spot of hiking.
Mr & Mrs P looking clean and fit (it won’t last).
We are off on an eight day hike with our tiny tent and enormous rucksacks.
Me trying to look like my bag doesn’t weigh a tonne
We boarded the train a short walk from our house followed by a short trip across London, which included a small detour to see platform 9 3/4 at Kings Cross Station, before arriving at St. Pancras Station where we boarded the Eurostar to Paris.
I wonder if ‘Wingardium Leviosa’ will work on our backpacks?
We crossed Paris on the Metro and are now on the sleeper train to Ax-les-Thermes (hereafter known as ‘Ax’)in the Pyrenees.
Mrs P, about 30 seconds before she fell asleep. Next stop Ax-les-Thermes (via sleepy-town).
The only slight glitch has been that we had to hand over our gas bottles at customs. Ooops! Apparently they are not allowed on the train. Hey ho. I’m sure we will be able to get new ones in Ax.
We will be in the mountains for about 8 days. There may, or may not be enough signal to post a blog or two. Watch this space.
In the meantime you can, assuming I set it up right, follow our progress on the map (after tomorrow) by following this link share.garmin.com/873VD, or by clicking on the map image on my website homepage.
