Here We Go Again
Sunday 16th February 2025 and it’s adventure time again
Mrs P and I are embarking on what will either be an epic adventure or a damp squib.
Our latest escapade has been simmering for some considerable time. Just before Christmas it was quite close to being shelved as we didn’t feel we had enough time to actually do the huge amount of planning, packing and logistical work required to mount said adventure.
“Do get on with it! Tell us the plan?” I hear you say.
Well, we are off to Norway again.
Skiing
Pulling a pulk (sled) and carrying heavy rucksacks.
Camping out
In Norway (did i already mention that?)
In winter.
Brrr!
For about 6 weeks.
Testing the new tent in typical Norwegian winter conditions
This is the pulk (sled) load. With 6 days of food it will weigh around 31kg.
Just add Pulky 3 (currently languishing in Oslo, Norway), add snow and remove idiot and we are ready to go.
The plan is flexible to say the least but, in essence, we hope to ski around 350-400 miles (559-650km) over around 30-40 days.
Out practicing with heavy rucksacks Mrs P checks the small print of our wedding vows to see if it covers this kind of silliness.
Packed and ready to go fly. About 70kg of kit and expedition food. Maybe we should take the fire?
After a couple of days in Oslo sorting things out we aim to start skiing on Thursday 19th Feb.
We are very much looking forward to leaving the planning, packing, logistics and general worrying behind and just getting on with it.
