Future adventures & current activities
Mrs P and I have been investigating an adventure for the future and I have been giving talks on my Norway trip
Memories - This week in 2017 - Mrs P's Birthday climb
Here’s a memory from 2017. A birthday Via Ferrata for Mrs P in Switzerland.
The World is full of interesting people
The World is full of interesting people and I got to meet one such person this weekend. Akshay Nanavati describes himself as…
Tales of the riverbank
The low sun silhouettes the boats as they drift silently along. Water droplets glisten on the end of our paddles and drip into the still water where they shatter the near perfect reflection of our boats. A cry breaks the silence:
Up on the roof
I miss climbing. Mrs P and I haven’t been rock climbing since last year! That’s a long time. Too long. This week though I did at least get to use some of my climbing kit and head in the general direction of ‘up.’
The Six Golden Rules of Writing
I’m writing a book. But I told you that in my last blog, so nothing new there. But I thought you might be interested in the process.
Radioa Ga Ga
Back in the Uk for nearly 3 weeks I have been interviewed on BBC local radio 3 times, updated the website, begun the book and become an expert in the art of procrastination.
Day 58 - The Penultimate Day
Nordkapp is not on the mainland it is on an island called Magerøya.
Days 56 and 57 - The end in sight
but, the following morning we come up with a cunning plan.
Days 49 to 55 - One tired skier
It is now Sunday 3rd April. We have covered 1,254 km over 55 days (including 5 bad weather days)
Days 44 to 48 - Dr. Livingstone I presume?
We have now been traveling for 48 days and our ski-ometer says we have covered 1,035 km.
Days 23 and 24 - And then there were three
Today is an enforced rest day. Trond’s new skis and the new pulk have failed to arrive.
Days 20 to 22 - Pulky retires
… this pounding has taken a heavy toll and holes have appeared on the bottom of poor Pulky. He won’t last much longer. These next few days to Sulitjelma will be his last.
Days 14-19 - Rain stops play
He couldn’t simply let Pulky go, too many trees, so he just aimed for a straight part with no trees, lay on the pulk and… weeeee!
Days 9 and 10 - Hatfjeldall to Seterstad Gard
Down at the lake there is one last short, steep downhill bit. David says to Trond, “You might want to have a think how you’re going to get down here.”
